Allie's Lush 'haul'
Lush cosmetics is a brand that is best known for being animal cruelty free. All of their products are hand made and fair trade. They sell bath, hair and body products as well as have a makeup line. Similar to Mac, they have this program where you bring 5 empty pots into the store and you will get a fresh mask for free. They also have a complimentary book that shows all of their products and information on each individual product.
This Charity Pot is a hand and body lotion that has a very subtle floral fragrance. I bought this because I work in an extremely dry environment and need creams and lotions to keep my skin feeling moisturized at all times! Also it is winter and the air is very crisp!
One other thing that caught my eye about this product is that 100% of the price excluding tax, goes to specific grassroot charities whether it be targeted towards the environment, people or animals. I really like that concept and made me inclined to buy it that much more. To learn more about this product and what it stands for you can go here. Also the packaging is extremely pretty! They have different stickers for the top for different charities.
As you can tell they are very strong in what they stand for and that turtle is literally the cutest thing!
My lips were feeling really chapped and I was in dire need of some lip restoration. Instead of getting just your regular lip chap, I got a sugar lip scrub in the flavor Mint Julips, or in Lush terms 'a lip smacking cocktail'. The application is fairly simple, use your finger to get some product the scrub it all over your lips. The purpose of this is to soften your lips and make them really smooth! A bonus is it's edible so you can eat what's left when you're finished rubbing it in! It's actually so good that I could just sit there and eat the entire pot. This will also leave your breath feeling minty fresh, which was one of my selling points as it kills 2 birds with one stone. Although I notice immediate results in my lips being smooth to the touch, long term effect I'm not noticing much of a difference and the top of my lip is starting to get really dry, I think it's best to use this with the combination of a chapstick. I had really high hopes for this product but it probably won't discourage me from trying it again maybe in a different flavor though.
The last product I got was actually the only one I had in my hand before getting to the cash, is the R&B hair moisturizer. I had this as a sample a few years back and used it religiously, until it ran out. Let me tell you, this is a great product and a must have for any hair fanatics such as myself. It says that this is best for people with curly hair but you could probably use it for any texture of hair. This is a leave-in conditioner so the application process is you just take as much as you deem necessary and rub it all through your hair.
I use it right after the shower when my hair is still wet just like I would use an argan oil. No need to rinse it out after as this will just dry with your hair and leave it smelling awesome as well. It can be used with dry hair as well but just be conscious to not use too much that it makes your hair look greasy. The purpose of this is to keep your hair looking shiny, healthy, soft, moisturized and also works great for treated and dry hair.
I use a lot of products in my hair to maintain my shine and length. I will have to say this is one of the top 3 products to use, especially when the smell of it comes into perspective on things. This has an exotic aurora to it and it smells great.
Although it is a little bit on the pricey edge, it's definitely worth the investment. Whether your hair is dry, damaged or perfectly fine, everybody needs to maintain their hair either way so I highly recommend purchasing it-or at least getting a sample to try it out first.
