Shoppers Drug Mart Haul + 2 Mini Reviews
For a while now I've been meaning to switch facial cleansers because the ones I have been using (Neostrata) have been drying out my skin. Neostrata is GREAT for acne prone skin, but I don't have acne anymore and wanted to switch with something more gentler on my skin. For a substitute I had some left over The Body Shop Seaweed Purifying Facial Cleanser but like before, I found it didn't really do much for my skin and it didn't feel as clean as it should be (hence why I don't like creamy cleansers). But, I did find my face was more matte than oily looking and I definitely recommend it for people with slightly oilier T-Zones.
So today after many, many, MANY days of eating out because of celebration of my birthday, I decided to treat myself with my birthday money and get some facial cleansers, toners, moisteners, and some other stuff along the way.
This is what I got for my face:
The very friendly lady at SDM suggested I use the Garnier Collection for normal to combination skin, and for my blemishes that arose with having acne a few years back, I should try Vichy (I hear many great things about Vichy, but looking at this product on the site the reviews aren't very good lol). I only go to SDM for a great experience and great advice. They are always so helpful and friendly, and cater to your price range. They have not yet tried to upsell a product to me unless I wanted to.
I also got Batiste Dry Shampoo, Vaseline, and John Frieda's Frizz Eaze Thermal Protection Serum:
I had/am running out of these things so I just thought I'd pick some up. I'll right some mini reviews here.
John Frieda's Frizz Eaze Thermal Hair Protection Serum: I always cringe when buying this stuff. It's so expensive for me. This bottle was almost $20.00 and every time I buy it, I look around the hair care isle for maybe five more minutes to look for something less expensive. I have no found anything less expensive yet. It's possible it's not available where I live or that's the cheapest, but if anybody knows a cheaper brand for thermal protection that's in a serum, TELL ME PLEASE!
Other than the very expensive price, this stuff is great. I LOVE this stuff. I've been using it since I was thirteen (and still cringing at the price). It smells so good, like I'm a mature woman about to conquer the world with my silky, soft locs! I apply two puts to the end of my hair and the rest that I have on my hands I put it all over. I literally have no complaints with this product except the price.
Batiste Dry Shampoo: Now according to their site, they have many different smells and packaging which I am totally unaware of. I have only tried the original, shown on the picture above, and the Big Bouncy XXL Volume Dry Shampoo. I absolutely love this product and it's affordable and they do have a sale once in a while. My hair looks refreshed every time I put it on and it's better than hairspray when I'm trying to create volume (hence why I run out of it so fast, I use it as hairspray). I highly recommend this product especially for people who shower quite frequently.
Vaseline is pretty much self explanatory.
So that's it! I'll let you know how the Garnier/Vichy goes in a few weeks! Until then,
