Pixi Mesmerizing Mineral Palette review

By 11:45 AM , , , , ,

Originally I thought I had two items for Pixi in my cart but apparently opted to just get the one, I wanted more Pixi to review in just one post but this will have to do!  Regardless I am excited to try this out as I've never used any Pixi before and have no idea what I'm about to get myself into!
You would never be able to tell that this is actually a drug store brand just by the packaging, which is one of the main things that drew me into Pixi.  The packaging is just really cute, sheek and different.  I like the light green and gold as a bordering color.

Even on the actual palette matches the packaging.  The back shows what this palette can do and its ingredients.

I got this in the shade Emerald Gold.  Unfortunately, Target had sold out of the other palettes as it would have been nice to get a few of them but that's just how it goes sometimes guys.

All of the shadows have a shimmer to them which can be a good or bad thing as there's no mattes but at least there is a variety of dark and light colors.

Now they don't have any names so I just did my swatching them from top to bottom.
The two pastel type colors are super light and I'm not even so sure if you could layer it on, take into consideration that these are all swatched without primer so it could go on brighter with the added primer.  The silver toned pastel color has a little bit of gold shimmer to it so that's kind of pretty.  I would use these during the spring and summer when the bright colors are out and about.  The next color actually swatched very neutral like but is showing up more orange on the picture, strange.  The golden color is what it is.  The green and darker brown colors however are really nice, I just really like green shadows, something about it.
Out of all the colors my favorite would probably have to be the last one just because it is SO pigmented and a little will go a very long way with it.  I found them to be pretty chalky but that can also be worked with.  I really like this palette, even the pastel colors just because it's something different from any other normal neutral palette.
Overall I really like this palette I just think it should have a matte shade in the mix as well.  It is definitely worth the bang for your buck, especially if you can get it for cheap at a Target store. (;
